At the Lighting Guerrilla Laboratory, held once again this year at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design, students from the Video, Animation, and New Media programme, under the guidance of several mentors and curators, developed a series of projects now exhibited across various locations in Ljubljana’s city centre.
One of these projects, The Fairy Circle (installed in MIRJE PARK, VALVASOR PARK, AND THE PARK OUTSIDE CANKARJEV DOM, next to Stojan Batič’s statue of Pan), was created by Korina Ferčec. The installation consists of a circular arrangement of small, glowing mushrooms. Through this work, the artist emphasises the diversity of individual elements which, when brought together and interconnected, form a new whole – a metaphor for an ideal community in which differences complement one another and generate entirely new qualities.
