The Freshly Painted exhibition presents an overview of selected Slovenian design works created over the past three years. It highlights achievements in product and industrial design, visual communications and fashion design – fields in which new ideas evolve into projects ranging from early prototypes to complex realised products and systems.

As it addresses an exceptionally broad field of creative practice and large-scale production, the exhibition can be seen as only a small sample of the diversity and richness of the contemporary design landscape.

The exhibition also marks an important turning point. For the first time in decades, the Designers Society of Slovenia is opening its doors to a wider professional community by extending participation to non-members of the Society. In this way, the exhibition has evolved into a space for networking, collaboration and collective creative exchange, heralding a new chapter in the Society’s activities.

Following a period of reduced activity, the Designers Society of Slovenia aims to re-establish itself as an active and recognisable professional platform that fosters cooperation, dialogue and the development of the design profession. It places particular emphasis on fostering connections between older and younger generations of designers. The exhibition therefore offers a rare opportunity to position students alongside professors and to encourage encounters between different creative perspectives and experiences.

Freshly Painted is therefore not only an overview of contemporary design production, but also an expression of the Society’s renewed strategy – a vision that is more open, modern and outward-looking, with a clear focus on the future. It is also a call for greater exchange and collaboration – “Let’s connect!”
