Nunsense

The producer of the musicals Mamma Mia! and Grease, Jurij Franko, together with his production company Prospot from Radovljica, has brought another global hit to Slovenia's stage – the musical comedy Nuns in Action! – Grand SHOW.

Nuns in Action! (originally Nunsense) is a brilliant work by author Dan Goggin, first premiered in December 1985 at the Cherry Lane Theatre. It holds the title of the second-longest running show off-Broadway. Over the past thirty years, it has become a global phenomenon, translated into more than 26 languages and enjoyed by audiences worldwide.

The musical tells the charming story of five nuns who find themselves in financial trouble and are forced to put on a charity show, with each of them determined to be the star of the performance. In a series of unexpected situations, the nuns reveal sides of themselves we’re not accustomed to seeing. In the spotlight, through singing, dancing, and laughter, each one shines in their unique way, both individually and as a group.

In the Slovenian version, top Slovenian artists, who also perform in Slovenia’s most successful musical of all time, Mamma Mia!, will captivate the audience.

Nuns in Action! will be presented at Cankarjev dom in a special “Grand SHOW” version, tailored for the Linhart Hall stage. For this extraordinary event, Slovenia's finest dancers will join the nuns on stage, under the watchful eye of our internationally acclaimed choreographer Matevž Česnovar.

This is a performance in which everyone will find a piece of themselves, with a team that will convince you that we all have the potential to be saints.
