Spektral, the debut of the duo of double bassist Žiga Golob and percussionist Andrej Hrvatin (Nimetu), explores the boundaries between improvisation and composition. Their shared musical language has been shaped over time through the study of inspirations and the exploration of sounds from the double bass, percussion, flutes, and other traditional instruments.

The project is the result of many years of collaboration and previous research in the MONOLIT project, where the musicians explored drone music and spectralism. The album combines influences from jazz, minimalism, contemporary art music, and traditional music. The music is spontaneous, sincere, and open to all listeners, while transcending genre boundaries.

Cerys Hafana (GB)

Cerys Hafana, acclaimed Welsh composer, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist, dives deep on their third album, Angel, exploring minimalism, traditional and avant-folk music, and their primary instrument – the Welsh triple harp. The album weaves together vocal pieces (all sung in Welsh) with instrumental tracks, often accompanied by a trio of skilled musicians on drums, double bass, and alto saxophone.
Hafana is known for an experimental approach to the harp, using unconventional techniques, and for blending influences from Welsh tradition, jazz, and contemporary folk, including Breton dance music. Their music moves effortlessly between rich atmospheric textures and intimate moments, defying genre boundaries.

The title track, Angel, is inspired by a Welsh folk tale about an old man who falls asleep for 350 years to the song of an angel. Through subtle interplay of harp, voice, and saxophone, Hafana creates soundscapes that are magical, emotionally vivid, and strikingly inventive. Recorded live in a chamber setting, the album delivers an immediate and intimate connection to the music.
