Founded in 2019, Zhlehtet is a music collective led by jazz pianist and composer Rok Zalokar. Besides leading his collective, Zalokar is a member of various ensembles and runs different projects. A distinguishing feature of Zhlehtet is taking on various formats, varying from a trio to octet. In recruiting musicians that explore different sounds and styles while incorporating the broadest possible range of instruments, Zalokar also transforms the sound of the collective. The music moves inspirationally, shifting from spirited free jazz, ambient passages and experimental sounds to the electronica-infused textures of cosmic or spiritual jazz. Special emphasis is placed on the synergy among the personnel and the subtle balance between acoustic and electronic instruments. At the CD Club, the collective will premiere the album Pieces for Collective Change, released in November 2025 on Jazz Cerkno Records.

Outstanding Dutch artists Niels Broos and Jamie Peet are two child prodigy musicians. Niels started playing keys at the age of four, and Jamie was behind the drumkit at five. Blending jazz and hip-hop with electronics, Broos & Peet’s signature style solidified their reputation as two of the most influential figures on the Dutch music scene.

Niels Broos produces a contemporary sound that fuses elements of Thelonious Monk, D'Angelo, Coltrane, J Dilla, Aphex Twin, and Radiohead. He’s experimenting with his own brand of electronic jazz, soulful and original. Jamie Peet’s colourful playing evokes the spirit of jazz greats Chris Dave, Questlove, as well as Gregory Porter, with whom Jamie has toured. Currently one of the most in-demand drummers in The Netherlands, Peet is a member of Y-OTIS, Jasper Hoiby 3 Elements & Tin Men, and Telephone.

This double bill concert, featuring the local band Zhlehtet followed by the Broos & Peet duo, provides a striking illustration of creative work at the intersection of analogue and digital, organic and synthetic, acoustic and electronic.
