18.00 David Mozetič Quintet – Being & Becoming
David Mozetič, sax, flute and composition; Marko Čepak Maki, guitar; Blaž Pahor, piano; Ilj Pušni, double bass; Gašper Peršl, drums
Nova Gorica-based jazz saxophonist David Mozetič first studied philosophy but later decided to follow his heart and become a professional musician. He attended the Ljubljana Music and Ballet Conservatory (majoring in jazz and pop music), then continued his studies at the Celje Conservatory, where he graduated with honours in 2019. He actively collaborates with various bands (Big Band Gverillaz, Mimika Orchestra, Akordika, Cherry Wine, etc.) and teaches saxophone at the Nova Gorica Music School. In recent years, Mozetič has also been active as a composer. 2021 saw the release of his debut album, Towards New Horizons – written in the form of an 8-movement suite. He’s coming to the Zvončki in trobentice festival with Being & Becoming, his sophomore release that came out this year.
Being & Becoming symbolically captures the complementary principles of melody writing; the album constitutes a departure from the static and repetitive patterns (Being), focusing on more dynamic, varied, and less predictable melodic forms, conceived as a process of continued development and transformation (Becoming), with rhythm and groove as the starting points for the compositional process.

19.00 Maj Kavšek 4tet – Minor Flaw
Maj Kavšek, trumpet and composition; Boštjan Simon, tenor sax; Tjan Šoštarič, double bass; Kristijan Krajnčan, drums
Maj Kavšek is a Ljubljana-born trumpeter and composer currently based in Berlin. Throughout his academic career, he trained under renowned professors and musicians, including Philip Dizack, Nate Wooley, Ralph Alessi, Greg Cohen, Reggie Moore, James Robert Rotondi, among others. As a soloist and substitute, Maj has performed with the RTV Slovenia Big Band on multiple occasions. He was invited to perform with the Euroradio Jazz Orchestra in Lithuania and Fame's Institute Orchestra in North Macedonia. Winner of several awards, Maj has played various international festivals. hHe has recently worked with many esteemed musicians, including Chris Pitsiokos, Philipp Gropper, Jure Pukl, Bram De Looze, Felix Henkelhausen, Jan Bang, Arve Henriksen, among others.
Maj Kavšek is coming to the Zvončki in trobentice festival with his debut album, Minor Flaw, a collection of compositions inspired by the sounds, noises, melodies, and rhythms found in quotidian life. Testing the limits of form, the project explores structural deviations in music perceived as minor imperfections by the performer. Rather than seen as flaws, these subtle differences become bearers of expression and authenticity through which the compositions achieve their fullest expression.

20.00 Gal Golob Trio
Efim Brailovskiy, alto sax; Gal Golob, cello and electronics; Florian Fischer, drums
The Berlin-based ensemble Gal Golob Trio was formed at the initiative of cellist and double bassist Gal Golob while studying at Jazz Institute Berlin.
Several years ago, Gal played the Jazz Festival Ljubljana with the band Nomadia. This time, he is appearing at the Zvončki in trobentice festival with his trio and the music recorded live at the 2025 Jazz Cerkno festival. In composing his own music, Golob combines simple, all but folk melodies with modern improvisational techniques. The compositions create a space between folk tradition, the saxophone─cello counterpoint, the alternatingly beat-driven and free-floating drums, and meditative sequences. The trio’s unique, personal sound emerges from the interesting instrumentation and the member’s long-standing collaboration.

21.00 Gavro Quartet feat. Alex Sipiagin
Tilen Gavranović, guitar; Alex Sipiagin, trumpet; Lenart De Bock, tenor sax; Miloš Čolović, double bass; Andreas Reisenhofer, drums
The Gavro Quartet is led by Tilen Gavranovič, a guitarist, composer, and leader of several musical ensembles. This is where Gavranovič composed music for his debut album, Let's Wait and See (2024), featuring prominent artists Jim Rotondi, Alex Sipiagin, Marko Črnčec, Jure Pukl, Tomaž Gajšt, among others. The band has toured internationally, including France, Germany, Austria, Croatia, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Slovenia. The Gavro Quartet is coming to the Zvončki in trobentice festival with brand new material and a special guest, the internationally acclaimed trumpeter Alex Sipiagin, who has worked with artists as notable as Mulgrew Miller, Chris Potter, Michael Brecker, Eric Clapton, Dr. John, Aaron Neville, Elvis Costello, and Dave Sanborn.
