Live radio play
“Man is condemned to be free; because once thrown into the world, he is responsible for everything he does.”
Sartre's play No Exit, or Huis clos in French, takes place in self-generated "Hell". It is a state populated by people who refuse to acknowledge their own freedom and responsibility. Trapped in a confined, windowless space without natural light, the characters are stuck with each other. They need each other for their very existence, that is, human existence. This inescapably results in confession and self-reflection. Humans, therefore, are "condemned" to freedom and responsible for their own destiny, the life we have chosen for ourselves.
Premiere of a live radio play at Cankarjev dom – Alma Karlin Hall on Monday, 27 November 2023, at 19.30.
After the start, entry into the hall will no longer be possible.
