Pametne godbe (‘Smart Music’)
After crossing its own frontiers and joining forces with the Ment and Lent festivals last year, the current edition of Druga Godba, a rehearsal for the festival’s 40th anniversary, showcases a week of music-making at the Slovenian capital. Running for 8 days at 4 venues, and on 9 stages, with 20 artists playing 22 concerts.

Traditionally varied and encompassing all genres, the programme is also gender-balanced. It offers a contemporary blend of traditional and urban music, featuring bands that transcend national boundaries and are primarily committed to art as both the broadest and most intimate means of expression. The music is aimed at inquisitive audiences, listeners wishing to enrich their lives through the performers’ knowledge, experience and creative freedom.

While the festival’s most prominent name is undoubtedly Mariza, a returnee to the festival like the Malian virtuoso guitarist Vieux Farka Toure, our selection includes thrilling and notable artists that are literally vying for your attention. At the same time, careful thought has been given to matching the content with a most suitable venue, so that the musicians’ artistry might soar to new heights and reach the audiences most fully.
If this year’s slogan ‘Smart Music’ was inspired by the studied and well-devised graphic identity by Kaja Kisilak (Business Genome), then it goes without saying that everyone attending and funding the festival will demonstrate an equal amount of smartness.
