An unusual blend of thriller, drama and meditation on the nature of presence and seeing. The secret behind a young girl's mysterious disappearance is gradually unlocked by her boyfriend and her father, who close themselves off from the world - the former with the purpose of making a confession, and the latter seeking to understand his daughter's disappearance.
A few months ago, Ida vanished without a trace. When three months later she neither returns nor her corpse is found, her father has a strange idea: he retreats with Ida's partner, Sander, into a spacious empty apartment for a talk that is part interrogation, part psychotherapy session, part confession. It soon becomes obvious that even long before her disappearance, the two lovers had chosen a strange and unconventional life: cut off from the world, isolated in the middle of the big city.
We see the female character only through Sander's eyes and that means that it will never be the real her. When people pass away, they become a story. A story that changes every time you tell it. I wanted to visualise what happens when someone starts to question your stories. Your memories and stories change. Sander wants to make a beautiful picture of her. But then, slowly, he starts to open up to all the bad stuff that might also be true about her. Martin Skovbjerg
