Taking place on the eve of the Spring Meeting of the German Academy of Language and Literature (Deutsche Akademie für Sprache und Dichtung Darmstadt), a prominent society of writers and scholars on matters pertaining to German language and literature, the preliminary event is dedicated to one of its most honourable members, Professor Emeritus, Dr. Rüdiger Safranski, an outstanding philosopher and author inquiring into different phenomena of the zeitgeist. Four of Safranski’s books have been translated into Slovenian (Das Böse, oder, Das Drama der Freiheit; Romantik. Eine deutsche Affäre; Ein Meister aus Deutschland: Heidegger und seine Zeit; Nietzsche: Biographie seines Denkens). He will engage in a dialogue with philosopher Assist. Prof. Dr. Gregor Moder, a brilliant interviewer and researcher who has just published a new book: Antigona: esej o Heglovi politični filozofiji (2023).
The guests will speak about Safranski’s books in Slovenian translation, the role of the individual in history and the Self in general.
