Arriving in good time
During the festive season in December, traffic tends to get heavily congested in Ljubljana. Visitors are advised to leave home earlier than usual to avoid arriving late.
Spring Conference of the German Academy of Language and Literature in Ljubljana
The Germany-Slovenia literary dialogue has a long and varied history. In holding its Spring Conference in Ljubljana, the German Academy of Language and Literature fosters the fruitful relations between the two cultural spaces. Taking place between 2 and 4 June 2023 under the motto “From Word to Word, From Verse to Verse” (borrowed from a poem by Peter Semolič), the Spring Meeting includes various events with renowned Slovenian and German-speaking writers and scholars.
One of the thematic issues is the relationship between language, literature and identity. The Spring Meeting features readings and talks with various authors, most notably Milan Dekleva, Miljana Cunta, Terézia Mora, Jan Wagner, Uroš Zupan, Durs Grünbein and Maja Haderlap. The accompanying programme includes a poetry-party and an awards ceremony.
Deutsche Akademie für Sprache und Dichtung (German Academy for Language and Literature) is a society of writers and scholars on matters pertaining to German language and literature in the Deutsche sprachraum, or Germanosphere.
