During the festive season in December, traffic tends to get heavily congested in Ljubljana. Visitors are advised to leave home earlier than usual to avoid arriving late.
International Scientific Conference
Co-organised by the Slovenian Philosophical Society, Alme Mater Europaea, Science and Research Centre Koper and with the support of the Maribor Public Library and Cankarjev dom, the second international conference of the Slovenian Philosophical Society will take place between 15 and 17 December in Maribor and Ljubljana. The main event will be held at Cankarjev dom on 16 December.
Entitled "The Prospects of Community: Between Facts and Values", the conference addressesthe issue of community values and the future of modern society, which have emerged as humanity’s paramount concerns in a time faced with numerous crises.
The conference speakers (in alphabetical order) include: Ciprian Bogdan (Romania), Alenka Zupančič Žerdin (Slovenia), Ignaas Devisch (Belgium), Nadja Furlan Štante (Slovenia), Tomaž Grušovnik (Slovenia), Anja Hellmuth Kramberger (Germany/Slovenia), Boško Karadjov (N. Macedonia), Friderik Klampfer (Slovenia), Aljoša Kravanja (Slovenia), Isabel Millar (Great Britain), Rastko Močnik (Slovenia), Gašper Pirc (Slovenia), Dragan Prole (Serbia), Jeffrey Robbins (USA), Sergej Seitz (Austria), Reingard Spannring (Austria), Vojko Strahovnik (Slovenia), and Luka Trebežnik (Slovenia).
The conference format is hybrid, most of the event will also be live-streamed.
