Arriving in good time
During the festive season in December, traffic tends to get heavily congested in Ljubljana. Visitors are advised to leave home earlier than usual to avoid arriving late.
Dedicated to the magicalworld of minerals and fossils, the fair includes a sale jewellery exhibition. Other featured events are the Light and Stone theme exhibition, a demonstration of jewellery making and gemstone polishing, as well as a stone mosaic workshop. A special feature of the festival is Slovenia's technologically most advanced planetarium, which affords an insight into the origin and evolution of the universe, starting with the Big Bang theory, the evolution of starts and planets, the history of interplanetary worlds and development of life. The audience is 'flown' towardsfamiliar stars and constellations, towards the stars wich appear to make up a co-ordinated shape from our earth-bound viewpoint and have been named after Greek myths and heroes. We will travel across the Solar System, nebulae and galaxies and explore various, mysterious worlds and events in outer space.
