Bojan Gorišek (1962) graduated from the Academy of Music in Ljubljana under Prof. Aci Bertoncelj and completed his studies with Herbert Henck in Cologne, Germany. He has worked with a variety of conductors, composers and performers (Luciano Berio, Vinko Globokar, Henri Dutilleux, George Crumb, Jane Manning, Irena Grafenauer, John-Edward Kelly, David Harman, Walter Proost, Zagreb Saxophone Quartet, Les Percussions de Strasbourg...).

He has performed throughout Europe (Germany, Italy, Finland, France, Netherlands, Spain, Austria, Portugal, Switzerland, Sweden, United Kingdom,…), Russia, USA, South America and China, in some of the most prominent venues in the world, including Musikverein (Vienna), Vatroslav Lisinski (Zagreb), Cankarjev dom (Ljubljana), Tiergarten Kirche (Berlin), Cite Internationale Des Arts (Paris), Opera Comique (Paris), Nybrokajen (Stockholm), Louisville Concert Hall (Louisville), Merkin Hall (New York), Steinway Hall (New York), Kennedy Center (Washington), Teresa Carreno Concert Hall (Caracas), Teatro Colon (Bogota), Beijing Concert Hall (Beijing), Musicora (Paris), Midem (Cannes), Philharmonic Hall (Voronezh), Rector's Palace (Dubrovnik), Henry Wood Hall (London).

He recorded Erik Satie’s complete piano opus (10 CDs), George Crumb’s complete opus for piano and two pianos (4 CDs), and Charles Ives’ Concord-Sonata for Dutch label Blaricum Music Group (Audiophile Classics series), for which he was the exclusive recording artist between 1993 in 2000, as well as Erik Satie’s works for the British label LTM Recordings and Philip Glass’ Solo Piano and The Complete Piano Etudes (1-20) (3CDs) for the Dutch label Sound Factory/Factory of Sounds.

He received the Golden Bird Award in 1986, the Prešeren Fund Award for creativity in the field of music in 2006 and the Zupančič Award for exceptional creations in the fields of art and culture in 2019. He has been professor of chamber music at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana since 2007.
