The three heroes of the concert evening are the Roman patrician Coriolanus and the young composers Mozart and Mendelssohn. Beethoven’s sonic portrayal of Coriolanus’ heroism and nobility will be followed by an encounter with Mozart as a violin virtuoso, brilliantly presented by one of the most original violinists of today, Shunsuke Sato. The concert will be rounded off by a tour of Scotland under the guidance of the twenty-year-old Mendelssohn.
