Wolfgang A. Mozart, Litaniae de venerabili altaris sacramento, K 243

Wolfgang A. Mozart, Requiem in D minor, K 626
Either vocal works ranging from Monteverdi to Ligeti or symphonies by Haydn and Schubert – Frieder Bernius strives towards the ideals of authenticity, models of perfection embodied in the original work, while aiming to develop a signature sound at the same time. In Stuttgart, the stylistically versatile maestro has founded several ensembles: Chamber Choir, Baroque Orchestra, Hofkapelle and the Classical Philharmonic. Bernius has been the pillar of Stuttgart’ musical life for several decades, attaining renown at home and abroad with his ensembles’ distinctive musical style.
No superlative is wasted in praising this choir!
Die Zeit
Aiming to be faithful to the manner and style of the Classical Period, the concert brings together brilliant soloists, the virtuosic Stuttgart Chamber Choir, which has released dozens of award-winning CDs and has been delighting the audiences with its natural, unaffected sound, and Hofkapelle Stuttgart, recipient of the 2003 Diapason d'or for a recording of Mozart’s Requiem, which uses period instruments in its aspiration towards a historically informed performance.
The all-Mozart programme provides a keen insight into the evolutionary progress of this musical genius: from impressive, stylistically wide-ranging youthful litanies to an emotional kaleidoscope of the composer’s (unfinished) swan song.
