Arriving in good time
During the festive season in December, traffic tends to get heavily congested in Ljubljana. Visitors are advised to leave home earlier than usual to avoid arriving late.
In compliance with the restrictive measures taken by the Government of RS to limit the next wave of the Coronavirus pandemic, Cankarjev dom has cancelled or rescheduled all events.
In accordance with the National Institute of Public Health guidelines, we have put comprehensive measures in place to ensure your visit to Cankarjev dom’s exhibitions is a safe and comfortable experience.

Frédérick Gravel graduated from UQAM’s (Université du Québec à Montréal) dance faculty. He joined DLD (Daniel Léveillé Danse) as an associate creator in 2010 and was appointed artistic director of the company in 2018.
The choreographer, dancer, musician and lighting designer turns the structures of choreography upside down, merging into his work various elements from rock and performance art. Some Hope for the Bastards begins as a melancholic party, a dark celebration. A poetic hymn dedicated to the feelings of helplessness and apathy when everyone is waiting for something. However, this wait is a ticking time bomb ready to blow. Which doesn’t take long to happen.
The Bastards’ uncompromising energy finds release in dance pushed to its limits, a series of scenes driving further the stubbornness of rhythm, the punch, the beat. Always searching for the pulse whose racing beat is dictated by a live ‘rock’ pendulum.
End result? Blending choreography and music, with its narcotic, pounding pop beats, Gravel has composed a masterpiece for the senses. For anyone who loves pure rock music and edgy contemporary dance.
