Anthony, a former engineer, declines all offers of help from his daughter Anne as he ages. The Father is a film about a headstrong man who does not want and does not need assistance, about the effect his condition (and behaviour) has on his close relatives, especially his daughter. Trying to make sense of his deteriorating circumstances, Anthony begins to doubt his loved ones, his own mind and even the fabric of reality.
