A chamber opera for six female a cappella voices and percussion accompaniment provided by the singers themselves, with music and libretto by the Serbian-born, Canada-based composer Ana Sokolović. The action is set on the evening before the wedding of a young woman who is celebrating her impending marriage with her girlfriends. After its premiere in Toronto in 2011, the work has been touring the world operatic stages. With its colourful palette and rough charm of folklore transfigured through the imaginative writing of Ana Sokolović, the award-winning and critically acclaimed opera has been enchanting audiences around the world.
