Big Band RTV SLO, Jazz orkestar HRT and Big bend RTS

A combined ensemble of three national jazz orchestras sharing the stage in Slovenia after a hiatus of three decades
Three prestigious big bands – the Croatian Radiotelevision Jazz Orchestra, the Slovenian Radio and Television Big Band, and the Radio Television of Serbia Big Band join forces in the “Jumbo Big Band” project. The meeting revives a major jazz project – the Jumbo Big Band, a historical meeting of three most influential big bands of the region in Slovenia in 1990 under the baton of the legendary conductor Jože Privšek. The mighty jazz ensemble will be interpreting pieces adapted especially for the occasion. The first meeting in twenty-eight years was realized in 2018 at the Novi Sad Jazz Festival, where Jumbo Big Band, led by renowned Sigi Feigel, thrilled the audience and received an enthusiastic standing ovation. The concert was also recorded on film by the RTV Slovenia and released as a documentary film. The project forms part of the Jumbo Big Band tour with concerts in Belgrade, Zagreb and Ljubljana.
