Arriving in good time
During the festive season in December, traffic tends to get heavily congested in Ljubljana. Visitors are advised to leave home earlier than usual to avoid arriving late.
Ratko and Radiša Teofilović, vocals; Mihael Hrustelj, guitar
This February, we are hosting an unparalleled Serbian vocal duo, Teofilović Brothers, appearing in collaboration with a virtuoso guitarist, Mihael Hrustelj, and a repertoire of South Slavic folk music.
Legendary interpreters of Serbian traditional songs, twins Ratko and Radiša Teofilović draw inspiration from the musical culture of the Balkans. In their interpretations, they follow an original two-voice a capella formula. The Teofilović Brothers have sung at prestigious international venues, including the Kennedy Center in Washington DC, the Hall of Honor at the Canadian Parliament in Ottawa, the Franz Liszt Hall in Budapest, and Konzerthaus in Vienna. Their popularity reached unimagined heights through collaboration with guitar player Miroslav Tadić.
Velenje-born and Rotterdam-based Mihael Hrustelj ranks among Slovenia’s finest guitar players. He started to play the guitar at the age of 13 and embarked on his musical career as a member of metal and rock cover bands, before joining various big bands and fusion ensembles. Asserting himself as a classical guitarist, Hrustelj engages in exploration of sound and genre blending, combining classical music with jazz and reggae, rock and traditional music. His solo concert was featured at the Jazz Festival Ljubljana.
The Ljubljana concert is the prelude to a Slovenian tour, with subsequent appearances in Maribor and Velenje.
