Arriving in good time
During the festive season in December, traffic tends to get heavily congested in Ljubljana. Visitors are advised to leave home earlier than usual to avoid arriving late.

Stellar violinist, violist and conductor, but also a philanthropist, film actor and much more, Julian Rachlin is Music Director of the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, Artistic Director of the Herbstgold Festival at the Esterházy Palace in Eisenstadt, Austria, and Chief Conductor of the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra beginning in the 2023/24 season. Proficient in the dual role of soloist/conductor, Rachlin taps into his experience as a soloist to address the subtleties of communicating with the orchestra, while conducting allows him to penetrate the deepest recesses of music and consequently heighten his sensitivity as an interpreter.
Over the decades, Julian Rachlin has developed a strong creative partnership with the celebrated English Chamber Orchestra, an independent ensemble committed to the highest standards of musical expression. Mozart occupies a special place in ensemble’s stylistically varied repertoire: the English Chamber Orchestra is the most recorded chamber orchestra in the world, its discography containing 860 recordings of over 1500 works including Mozart’s complete symphonic output.
