Time and again we are faced with music that, due to completely unacceptable actions in the world, cuts deep into human conscience, emotions and reason. This is a source of anxiety. Many composers have done more for peace with their creations than all of the politicians combined. It is unfortunate that their music is still just as relevant today. Thus, the Beethoven Year is also the year of a musical revolutionary, a rebel and a persistent fighter for a better future. May none of his nine symphonies be performed in vain in 2027.
