Clug’s ballet adaptation of the story about a Nordic hero toured Ljubljana directly after its November 2015 premiere. In interlacing a folk fairy tale with Ibsen’s deeply intimate probing into identity issues, the Maribor-based choreographer attained notable international success. A great testament to the performance’s powerful appeal is its inclusion in the repertoire of the Vienna State Opera.
