The Macedonian ethno attraction TANEC will stage a true spectacle at Cankarjev dom in Ljubljana on September 22, 2024, blending the sounds of traditional Macedonian music with classical instruments. The performance in Ljubljana is part of the Balkan tour of the Macedonian national ensemble TANEC, continuing its long-standing connection with Slovenia and the Slovenian audience.

After a series of world tours and performances across several continents, TANEC has become a global attraction that captures attention wherever it appears. TANEC’s melodies and dances have traveled through Europe, the USA, Canada, and Australia, even resonating on the stage of Carnegie Hall in New York. After several years, they are now returning to perform in front of the Slovenian audience, presenting the finest treasures of Macedonian melodies.

The TANEC ensemble is marking its 75th anniversary with a major Balkan tour, showcasing the best of Macedonia through singing, dancing, and music.

Fans of Balkan sounds, especially the authentic traditional melodies that define our region, will greatly enjoy TANEC’s performance. Macedonian cultural heritage will once again be presented in a new, different, yet equally spectacular version.

The TANEC ensemble was founded in March 1949 and for 75 years has been one of the pillars of Macedonian tradition and culture. It was established with the aim of collecting and preserving Macedonian traditional songs and dances, folk instruments, and costumes, and – through appropriate artistic expression – presenting the most precious treasures from the rich heritage of the Macedonian people. In its 75 years of activity, it has made a significant impact on the Macedonian cultural scene, maintaining traditional elements while also introducing new performers, soloists, orchestras, and performance styles.
