Vlado Kreslin: Pelji me še kdaj tja (Take Me There Again, Sometime)

Mali bogovi, Beltinška banda, guest Dorretta Carter

Vlado Kreslin belongs to the group of artists whom ‘everyone loves’ – a label usually reserved for those who try hardest to please and be liked by everyone. While this is not typically the most desirable trait in art, it is all too often overlooked in popular music. However, Kreslin does not seem to make his music for others, but for himself – or rather, he is highly convincing in his ability to make us believe this. He comes across as sincere and genuine, increasingly so with age, like fine wine.

Vlado Kreslin will, “as many times before, yet like never before,” spread the rainbow of his music across the stage of the Gallus Hall. As always, he will be joined by Mali bogovi and the Beltinška banda, with the accomplished singer of Jamaican descent, Dorretta Carter, as a special guest. Dorretta Carter is a charismatic and versatile musician who moves between blues, jazz, and funk, and has collaborated with a wide range of artists and ensembles, including Osibisa, Working Week, Wayne Shorter, and Jennifer Rush

A Slovenian musical phenomenon, Vlado Kreslin, with his immediacy, exquisite poetry, and interpretative style – filtered through the mysterious veil of his voice – has been offering Slovenia more than his soul for decades: he offers reflection and cultural heritage. In fact, he returns a part of himself in such a subtle and refined way that it is almost imperceptible, yet his music keeps drawing us back, time and again.
